I got a couple of people asking me what I was up to. For any others who ever wish to contact me, I do still use the email associated with this account, so all comments reach me without any problem.

Anyway, a quick update on what's going on. I am the proud father-to-be of some creature currently living off the life-source of my patient wife. She talks softly to it and warms it with her hand on her belly. It kicks her and sits on her bladder. I'm given to understand that this is the normal way of parents and children during the first 18 years of life. It is tentatively set to move from parasite to leech on either Easter or Tax Day, depending on which calendar you're using. It's gender remains undetermined, though for investigative purposes we plan to violate its privacy on December 20th, a Tuesday (naturally). Debbie says she would like it to be a girl, whereas I'm ok with either possibility, so long as it doesn't one day decide to move to San Francisco with his hairdresser friend Steve, or run away from its own wedding with her former college roommate.

On a side note, good buddy Fernando and his lovely wife Ana are expecting a child of their very own (shameless copycats). There's a funny story to that actually. I'd ruin it if I tried to tell it, but feel free to email him yourselves: "fwinde2 (at) uiuc.edu". He and I are in competition to see who can become a father first. It's going to be close, but (we think) I've got a two-week headstart. Vegas is currently putting the odds at 2:3 in my favor, though my guy in New York has it at only 3:4.

On Saturday, Debbie and I leave for storm-ravaged Southern Florida, where, rumor has it, a few nice condos and hotels not "too" far from the beach still remain. Somehow, in the rush to get married, we never quite managed to get time set aside for our honeymoon. We're making up for that now. If any of you reading this happen to be in Pampano Beach, FL between the 10th and the 17th of December, please do not try to find me. I mean, it is my honeymoon after all.

Blue skies and rainbows to you all. Josiah especially, thanks for your comment and kind attempt to find me a job. For those who are wondering, I actually live in Virginia now, and am working on some pretty cool web design and web application development. Right now I'm using Java and PHP, with the intent to move into Javascript programming as well. I've already ordered a couple of books, but if anyone knows of some really good websites I should visit for either PHP or Javascript, please tell me about them in a comment.
