It's funny just how often we're reminded that having the ability to do something does not therefore make it wise or profitable to do that thing. Take for instance cloning. Yes, it may be within our technological ability to clone a miniature version of oneself 1/8th one's own size, but does it truly profit one to do that thing? Or take as another example filmmaking. Yes we can add CGI versions of annoying rastafarians to our space epics, but is there any good that can be accomplished by doing this?
Now suppose that I possess a knife so sharp that I can actually shave with it. And let's say that I wish to show other people just how sharp my knife is. So now, picture in your mind a left arm with a large bald patch, situated across a chest from a right arm that is unusually hairy. Yeah... I'll let that sink in...
Anyway, there should be no doubt that my knife is sharp. My common sense, on the other hand, is rather dull.
It'll grow back, right?
I actually had quite a list of names I was playing with before I decided on "Turn Left at the Adult Bookstore." I thought that since this was my first entry, I'd go ahead and share some of my other favorites:
Notes From the Netherworld (yes, Josiah, I considered it pretty seriously)
A Padded Room with Toys
Cafe on Main Street
Step into my parlor
Walking it off
California Exile
Help Me Obi-Wan
Misplaced Sarcasm
Last Man Standing Still
In the end, I decided that "a padded room with toys" was actually my favorite title, but figured I could get more traffic if people thought my blog might contain pornography.
